Technology in the Office:
C02 Laser:
The CO2 laser in dentistry is a versatile and advanced tool that uses a focused beam of carbon dioxide (CO2) laser light to perform a variety of dental procedures. It is widely recognized for its precision, ability to minimize discomfort, and its ability to promote faster healing. CO2 lasers are particularly effective in soft tissue treatments but can also be used for certain hard tissue procedures. In most cases when we use the C02 laser traditional anesthetic is not needed!
Intraoral Scanner:
The Trios 3 Intraoral Scanner is a cutting-edge dental tool designed to capture highly accurate 3D digital impressions of a patient’s teeth and gums. Manufactured by 3Shape, the Trios 3 scanner is widely used in modern dentistry for creating precise digital impressions, which are essential for various procedures, including crowns, bridges, implants, aligners, and orthodontics. Unlike traditional molds that can be uncomfortable for patients, the Trios 3 intraoral scanner offers a more comfortable, faster, and more accurate alternative. Patients no longer have to deal with the discomfort of impression materials setting in their mouth or the feeling of a bulky tray. This makes the Trios 3 especially beneficial for patients who experience gag reflexes or those with dental anxiety.
CBCT Scanner:
The Sirona CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) Scanner is a state-of-the-art imaging device used in dentistry to provide detailed 3D imaging of a patient’s teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures. It is designed to enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning for a wide variety of dental procedures. CBCT technology is especially useful in areas such as implant planning, orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, and oral surgery.
This digital scanner also takes Panorex X-rays and Ceph X-rays which are essential for orthodontic treatment planning.
Digital X-rays:
Digital X-rays in dentistry are a modern, advanced imaging technique used to capture detailed images of the teeth, bones, and surrounding structures in the mouth. Unlike traditional film-based X-rays, digital X-rays use electronic sensors to capture and convert X-ray images into digital images that can be viewed on a computer screen almost immediately. This technology has transformed dental diagnostics, providing faster, more accurate, and more environmentally friendly imaging options.
Digital x-rays use less radiation than traditional x-ray imaging.
Dermapen:
The Dermapen is a device used in microneedling, a minimally invasive treatment designed to promote skin regeneration by creating tiny micro-injuries in the skin. These micro-channels stimulate the body’s healing process and encourage collagen and elastin production. The Dermapen uses fine needles that vertically penetrate the skin, creating micro-injuries that trigger the body’s natural healing response. These injuries promote the production of new, healthy skin cells and collagen, improving the skin’s texture and tone
